Newark on Trent Sunday November 14th 2010 This is held in conjunction with the 8th Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show. This uses the facilities ad buildings of the permanent Agricultual Showground to put on a fantastic display of immaculately restored tractors and vintage machinery,
This makes an excellent location for the last Old Sodbury’s Sortout of the year. As the Sunday of Newark Vintage Tractor Show is always Remembrance Sunday the Buyers get into the Sortout earlier at 09.30 to avoid a clash with the Act of Remembrance. The Show itself attracts some impressive tractor restorations and the scope has been widened to include military and Land Rover exhibits. Although the Sortout is still outdoors many of the Trade stalls are Sortout regulars but under cover so you can be confident of finding what you are looking for.
This mans in one journey you can combine visiting Old Sodbury's Sortout AND a superb and memorable display of vintage machinery. This makes for an excellent day out
There are no fixed spaces but you will be expected to set up where directed. in customary Sortout style. You may be surcharged if you take up an unreasonable amount of space. Any unloaded material must be displayed on a waterproof sheet.
Part of the appeal of Old Sodbury's Vintage Sortouts is that NOBODY knows what will turn up. Some trade exhibitors will have a good idea of what they will bring but many sellers leave it to the last minute before deciding what to load on their outfit. You usually need to bring warm and water proof clothing, cash to complete the sale before somebody else does and bringing a barrow to transport your purchases could be useful. Prepare to enjoy yourself! at a PROPER Old Sodbury's Vintage Sortout
New This uear is a Speed Dating for Land Rovers section. This could be the place whereyou find the Land Rover of your dreams...no matter what sort of dreams you have!!
Located right alongside is the impressive Newark Aero Museum . This is very much focused on working RAF exhibits. Even the buildings are ex RAF as the Showground is a former RAF Station www.newarkairmuseum.org will get you more information. Again they too will be holding Remembrance Service on the Sunday. If you can find the time to visit it is well worth while even if it means staying an extra day to fit it in.
