About us

This is a Vintage Sortout to meets all the requests for a Sortout location nearer the Severn Bridge.  High fuel prices have certainly justified our decision to move  Old Sodbury’s Sortouts  away from Newbury.  Instead we  can offer you  a choice of venues around the country.  In each case to help justify your trip there is another show  to take in nearby. Tortworth is 70 miles   west of Newbury Showground  making it ideally placed for visitors from the West Country  South Wales and the Midlands to meet.  The entrance is about 4 miles from Junction 14 of the M5.  Although not clear on the map the Mortorway exit is at FALFIELD  ..

This Sortout adjoins  The Tortworth Vintage Transport Show     which has most of the features you enjoy at a rally. Once set up,  you will find you are  right next door to this busy and popular show where Sortout Buyers will be parking.
From Junction 14 M5 follow the  signs  for “Tortworth Vintage Transport Show”  Sellers enter via Exhibitors Entrance

Recommended Satnav code  for this  Old Sodbury’s Sortout is GL12 8LJ

If you want to make a real weekend of Vintage  the Welland Steam Rally opens on Friday 23rd  so you could fit in a couple of days at Welland as well taking in the Sortout and Tortworth on the Sunday . This could appeal particularly to visitors coming from the South West and South Wales.

The Sortout Selling Area is a grass  field  next to a quarry. Bring sensible clothing in case of wind, rain, or chill.  Buyers  of big or heavy items can tranship  them on to  their vehicles by arrangement after 3.30 pm.

Many Show spectators will visit the Sortout  which is why  we  have widened the definition of “Agricultural Vintage” to give you more choice in what to bring.  Mostly bring what people expect to find at a Vintage Sortout.

Goods on offer  must  be your property, used or old unused items, or made by you. You can bring goods for a friend but as the person booking the stall you will be responsible  for their suitability .  There may be more suitable trading possibilities for goods that don't fit our  definition  elsewhere on site at  please enquire. (Previous Sellers know the  reputation of Old Sodbury’s Sortouts attract specialist Buyers hoping to find  the most unlikely items.)

Our expression “Vintage Agricultural” encompasses anything  you might have found included in  a farm clearance sale held around  forty years ago.  Tractors and Stationary engines, spares,  tools, implements, dairy equipment, sacks, literature, books, Ephemera, poultry equipment, trailers, furniture,  and of course those two standbys of every  farm sale “Misc” and “Quantity of  scrap”.

New for Tortworth . With a Transport Show  next door, and their visitors expected to look in, even some car, commercial, or motorcycle parts will be accepted.

New for all Vintage Sortouts Buyers will also be hoping to find  anything  related to earlier leaf spring Land Rovers particularly Series 1, 2, 2A, and 3 and Forward Control models. Spares or even complete vehicles.

There are no fixed spaces but you  will be expected to set up where directed. in customary Sortout style.  You may be surcharged if you take up an unreasonable amount  of space. Any unloaded material must be displayed on a waterproof sheet.
