  Tortworth  (South Glos) July 25th

This  meets requests for a Sortout location nearer the Severn Bridge. Tortworth is 70 miles   west of Newbury Showground  making it ideally placed for visitors from the West Country,  South Wales, and the Midlands to meet.  The entrance is about 4 miles from Exit  14 of the M5.This Sortout is being held next to The Tortworth Vintage Transport Show an added attraction for visitors.

Brimham (North Yorkshire) August 22nd

Held on a working dairy farm in Nidderdale alongside  the well established  Great Northern 4x4 Sortout  this now includes Agricultural Vintage  often in the same load. Within 14 miles of the A1  the  local scenery is spectacular. Please be aware this year this is the only Sortout without a show alongside. However Cheffins have a Vintage sale nearby in Harrogate on the Saturday. .

  Easter Compton (Bristol)   October 3rd

Within a couple of miles of Junction 17 of the M5. (Signposted  “Cribbs Causeway Shopping Centre.”6) Superbly placed for access from Wales over either Severn Crossing, the West Midlands, the West of England  and by M4 from the Home Counties.   It’s where Cheffins hold their Bristol Sales and Somerset NVTEC their after Christmas Sale. Plenty of hard standing means any size of vehicle can be coped with. Alongside is Joe’s Gathering which proved a surprise new steam Rally enjoyed by all who came last year. Their Saturday night entertainment has a 1940s theme.

Newark on Trent (Notts) Sunday November 14th

Within the Newark Vintage Tractor Show with its high reputation .  The Showground is particularly well located  for the East Midlands, The North, East Anglia and  anywhere North of London. Show attracts some interesting Land Rovers as well.  Remembrance Sunday so Sortout starts earlier at 9.30

                         What sells best.

At a Vintage Agricultural Sortout  most buyers are hoping to come across something  they might have found included in  a farm clearance sale held around  forty years ago.  Tractors and Stationary engines, spares,  tools, implements, dairy equipment, sacks, literature, books, ephemera, poultry equipment, trailers, furniture,  and of course that standby of every  farm sale “Misc”.

Some buyers will also be hoping to find rally transport  or  anything  related to earlier leaf spring Land Rovers  Series 1, 2, 2A,  3 and Forward Control models. Spares or even complete vehicles accepted..

Goods on offer  must  be your property, used or old unused items, or made by you. There may be other suitable trading possibilities elsewhere on site please enquire.

**IMPORTANT small print worth reading **

Legally  is up to the pass holder to carry out a meaningful Risk Assessment  before participating. To reduce overall risk the following  actions are prohibited , generation or use of electricity at any voltage over 30 volts, the use of disposable barbeques or gas appliances,  any form of  welding,  any use of petrol or tools with sharp edges, display or setting off of any type of flare or firework. Between 11am and 3.30 pm.   Starting or movement  of vehicles or running engines prohibited.

At the very least your  Risk Assessment needs to consider:  Weather risks from rain,  wind particularly, or strong sunshine and their effect on ground conditions.  The lifting and carrying  of heavy or sharp objects. Securing heavy objects to prevent them falling or trapping fingers.  Any chemical hazards from products on sale.  Precautions for older spares containing asbestos e.g. brake linings and friction materials. Snagging on protruding objects.  Admittedly this is mostly common sense,  what is looked for is that you have considered  the risks to yourself and other people and taken steps to avoid them.

Any mechanically propelled vehicle including tractors must have valid Road Traffic Act Cover while in the Sortout unless it remains loaded on  and secured to its transport.

Sortout passes only grant  permission to offer for sale Vintage Agricultural  items that are your own personal property or you are legally authorised to sell. Passes and tickets will not be issued until payment received in full, these remain the property of the organisers who  reserve the right to withdraw any  in the interests of the event as a whole.

Sorry about the small print but it is included so we all know where we stand at a Sortout.  The most important aim is that everybody including you have an interesting and rewarding day.
